We are committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults and creating protective and supportive environments where all people, and especially those who may be vulnerable, are able to worship and pursue their faith journey in safety.

We follow the national legal and procedural framework for safeguarding children and adults, and Church of England policy and practice. Download a copy of the Church of England Parish Safeguarding Handbook here.

All volunteers and staff who work with young people and vulnerable adults are required to sign a personal declaration, provide references and have an up to date Disclosure & Barring Service certification. They are also required to undertake appropriate training with the Diocese of Portsmouth and receive certification on the succesful completion of their course.

Annually our PCC reviews and publishes a Parish Safeguarding Policy Statement. This was last reviewed in May 2022, a copy of which is downloadable here.
